What Is Pixel Advertising?

There is a new form of advertising that is taking off and from the new coverage it is getting it may be the next biggest thing since PPC. Currently webmasters spend huge amounts of money to get web visitors via banner ads, popup ads, and pay per click ads. The newest mode of attracting traffic is called Pixel Advertising.

The basic premise is that people buy pixels on a web page that link back to their web site. The pixels form images that develop into a mosaic that can become a pop culture piece of art. Kind of like the cigar wrapper art. The end result is a web page that gets good traffic with a link back to their site, which drives visitors, which drives sales.

Driving this new medium is the notion that pay per click costs too much... If you had 10 clicks a day at 10 cents each, in one year it would cost you $365! Take that out 5 years and you are talking about over $1800! The reality is that often clicks cost a lot more than 10 cents each which translates to a whole lot more money. People have been reported paying more than $50 a click.

Pixel ads are a single purchase and last for years. It is not uncommon to see people offering their space for 5 to 10 years. With a good quality image, it could return more visitors to your web site than pay per click at a huge savings. Spaces are most commonly sold in 10 by 10 pixel blocks at 25 cents per pixel up to over a dollar a pixel. (100 pixel total in a block). Most sell in the 10px by 10px minimum format since this is logically the smallest usable space. All the blocks bought commonly must form a square or rectangle.

Pixel advertising is just in it's infancy. It is still too early to tell where it may lead, but for as little as they cost, the pixel ads are probably money well spent. It is after all a drop in the bucket from an advertising costs standpoint. At the least, it will add to the collection of inbound links that all sites need to be successful.

When you purchase pixels from Advertise-Pix you will not own any part of the site. Advertise-Pix is an advertising tool where you can submit an image and link which will then be reviewed for possible publishing on the pixel page.
You cannot change the image or link once you have submitted them, so you must be sure of the image & link you want on the pixel page, which will be there for at least 1 year as long as all conditions are met.
Once your image and link are published on the pixel page, you will not be eligible for a refund all sales are final.
The site and homepage will be online for at least 1 year and hopefully many years to come.
Advertise-Pix.com is a high quality, family friendly website. No gambling/obscene/offensive/controversial/skin/male or female models/posing/adult images or links to any content of this nature will be accepted. Any pictures and/or links will be permitted only at the sole discretion of Advertise-Pix.com. Your ad content should correspond with the content of your website. Please check the site regularly if you are unsure of your content. You will not be notified if your link or picture is deleted or replaces by Advertise-Pix.com for any reason. If you submit an image or link that is later found to break this condition, you may be asked to provide an alternative. NO money will be refunded and the pixels will be sold to another advertiser if you are unable to provide an alternative link/image.
If at any time you change the content of the linked site you must notify Advertise-Pix, so we are aware of the change and your new content does not violate our rules. No gambling/obscene/offensive/controversial/skin/male or female models/posing/adult images linked sites are allowed. If you violate this condition your image/link will be removed immediately and you will be contacted to provide an alternative link/image. You will not in any way receive a refund due to the link downtime.
If for whatever reason in the future you want your image and link removed from the pixel page, you will be allowed to do that, but you will not receive a refund and the pixels will become available for sale.
Images are automatically resized to fit the pixels you order so you must ensure you are happy with the image before making your payment by 'Viewing' it on the pixel page first.
Images must be in GIF or JPEG format.
Animated images are not allowed on Advertise-Pix, if you submit an animated image, either the first frame of the animation will be used or it will be removed totally and you will be contacted for a new image.
All Links must be to web pages only and begin with http://
You must have the authority to provide the image and link for the website you submit, if you do not and we become aware of this your image/link will be removed and you will not receive a refund.
All orders are processed automatically as soon as we receive confirmation from the payment processor of your payment, generally your image/link will be posted within a few minutes.
You do not need an existing PayPal account. We are currently accepting Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express through a new or existing PayPal account. Moneybookers may also be accepted as a form of payment.

Why 'Advertise-Pix'?

After seeing Alex Tew's very creative Million Dollar Homepage, the original pixel advertising site, it became obvious it might work for other people. I obtained a perl script to run the site and to automate the whole process of running a pixel advertising site, including adding the links automatically..

What do I do?

Just click on the block in the matrix that you want and a dialog will appear so that you can immediately download a picture from your computer and see it appear in real time.

Why 5 cents?

If you want to pay more then please feel free:) You're right, 5 cents a pixel is not a lot compared to most other online advertising. However, it should cover our costs.

You're joking right?

No, I am deadly serious. I initially laughed at the idea when I heard it but then I found it was working, Alex Tew has sold in excess of $900,000 worth at $1 per Pixel and I have since seen lots of simular sites going online since. This could become the next 'mainstream' form of web advertising. Don't let someone else take your spot on the home page!

Why are you selling by the block?

A Pixel is far to small to consider trying to sell, you would never see the image and the link will never get clicked on. A Block is realistically the smallest size you could use.

Why should I buy your pixels?

When you buy pixels here at AdvertisePix.com you are investing in a web site that could get a ton of traffic from a link on your home page, links from other sites and other forms of exposure. What kind of traffic will I get?

We will work to get targeted traffic for each pixel advertiser. However, some of the clicks will be random, from visitors that are clicking on the images to see where they lead. This is not necessarily a bad thing, how often do people stumble across a site and think 'oh I was looking for that' or 'I need that' etc. At 5 cents per pixel you can't go wrong.

How long will it be before my image is added?

The system is set up so as soon as it receives confirmation from Paypal or Moneybooker that your payment has been made your image and link will be added so you should see it appear on Advertise-Pix within minutes

How long will the site be around for?

The domain name is currently registered for 2 years, your ad will need to be renewed each year but We plan to keep the site running for alot longer.
